Photographer Martyn Goddard captures a classic 1970s rock'n'roll image, with legendary Australian hardcore rockers, AC/DC. Shot in 1976, just three years after they first formed, only three of the individuals in this image are still alive – Angus Young, Phil Rudd, and Mark Evans.
By this very early time in their career, the band had released just two albums, High Voltage and TNT, both of which, initially, were Australian releases only. In the same year as Martyn’s image, AC DC released Dirty Deeds Done Dirt Cheap, internationally.
AC/DC went onto become one of the world’s best-selling rock acts, still gigging today after several line-up changes over the years, most notably to include Axl Rose from Guns'n'Roses pitching in for lead vocal duties on their most recent world tour.
